Beth Roche is a Sydney-based composer in her final year of a Bachelor of Music (composition) at the Sydney Conservatorium. An accomplished pianist and bass guitarist, Beth performs and writes in a variety of styles and enjoys exploring the crossover of contemporary and classical music.
In recent years Beth has been a runner up in the Australian Women’s Wind Band Composition Competition; her piece ‘Dragon Slayer’ was recorded by the Queensland Wind Orchestra. In 2024, she was selected for the inaugural Sydney Conservatorium Winter School in Composition where her piece ‘A Peculiar Place’ was premiered by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellows. Recently Beth was selected for the Australian Youth Orchestra’s composition programme where she worked under Jessica Wells to write a piece for chamber orchestra. In 2025, she will take part in the Kuring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra’s emerging composer programme.
Beth is also a passionate arranger, having arranged for community wind orchestra and for an upcoming pop artist.
